The ventilated facade is a particular type of external wall covering, realized by installing on an external building wall a surface made of panels mounted on a suitable structure and separated from the wall by an air gap. In this way, the heating of the external surface triggers an upward movement of air in the gap (chimney effect). This natural ventilation help removing moisture, thus guaranteeing a high level of comfort in the building. In addition, ventilated facades can reduce the amount of heat that a building absorb in hot weather conditions, thanks to the combined effect of the partial reflection of solar radiation by the external surface, the high thermal resistance offered by insulating materials applied on it and the insulation provided by the ventilated air gap. Vice versa, in winter, ventilated facades retain heat, resulting in savings in terms of heating.
Finally, the external panels act as a rainscreen, protecting the building from atmospheric agents and prevent the formation of cracking on the external covering.
In short, the advantages of ventilated facades are:

- lasting efficiency of the outer insulating material, which is kept perfectly dry thanks to an excellent ventilation
